Cookies

This website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file with an identification number that is transferred and stored on your computer when you use our website, together with other requested data. Storing these cookies helps us tailor the website to you and make its use easier, for example, by saving certain information you have entered so you don’t have to re-enter it each time. The data is stored for later use and serves to authenticate the user.

Because cookies are simple files and not executable programs, they pose no potential risk to your computer. Depending on the preferences selected in your internet browser, cookies may be accepted automatically. These preferences can be changed, and the storage of cookies can be deactivated or customized. If you deactivate cookies, certain website functions may no longer be fully or partially available.

1. Session cookies
Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser.

2. Permanent cookies
We also use cookies that remain on your hard drive. Their expiration date is set for a future point in time. During a later visit, it is automatically recognized that you have visited us before and which options and settings you prefer, as well as text you may have entered in our forms.

3. Use of third-party cookies
We work with various advertising partners who help us make our online services and the Stitch Amsterdam website more interesting for you. Therefore, cookies from our partner organizations are also installed on your hard drive. These are temporary cookies that delete themselves after some time. Cookies from partner organizations are usually deleted after a few days or within 24 months, and in some cases, after several years. Cookies from our partners do not contain personally identifiable data. Data is only collected under a user ID, which is never linked to your personal data. You can revoke the transmission and storage of data for web analysis at any time with future effect by notifying us by email at info@stitchamsterdam.com

Google Analytics with the extension “anonymize IP”
This website uses Google Analytics for web analysis. This is a service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies.” The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google complies with the privacy policy of the “EU-US Privacy Shield” for the transatlantic exchange of personal data. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for us, and provide other services related to website and internet usage.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or where such third parties process the data on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser software; however, please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of this website fully.

If you do not want information about your website visit to be transmitted to Google Analytics, you have the option to install a “deactivation add-on” for your browser. The current link is: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Stitch Amsterdam also uses the following Google Analytics advertising features: Adwords, Retargeting, Impression reports in the Google Display Network, and demographic and interest reporting.

If you want to disable Google Analytics advertising features, follow this link to Google’s Advertising Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads). You can also visit the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out page and follow the instructions there (http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/).

Use of Facebook plug-ins
Our website uses so-called social plug-ins (“plug-ins”) of the social network Facebook. These services are offered by Facebook Inc. (“Provider”). Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). An overview of the plug-ins and their appearance can be found here:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

If you visit a page on our website that contains such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with Facebook’s servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, the provider receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a profile on the social network or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a server of the provider and stored there.

If you are logged into the social network, the provider can directly associate your visit to our website with your profile on Facebook. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the “Like” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a server of the provider and stored there. The information is also published on the social network and shown to your contacts. For more details about the purpose and scope of data collection and further processing and use of data by the provider, as well as your related rights and options to protect your privacy, please refer to the provider’s privacy policy.
Facebook Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/update

If you do not want Facebook to directly associate the data collected via our website with your profile, you must log out of the network before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent plug-ins from loading with add-ons for your browser, such as the script blocker “NoScript” (http://noscript.net/).

Re-targeting
Our website uses so-called re-targeting technologies to make our online offer more interesting for you. This technique makes it possible to target internet users who have already shown interest in our shop and products with ads on partner websites. We believe that personalized advertising based on interests is generally more interesting than ads without such a personal connection. The integration of these advertising materials on our partners’ websites is based on cookie technology and an analysis of prior usage behavior. This form of advertising is completely anonymous. No personal data is stored, and no user profiles linked to personal data are created.

Hotjar
This website uses the web analytics service Hotjar by Hotjar Ltd. Hotjar Ltd. is a European company based in Malta (Hotjar Ltd, Level 2, St Julian’s Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta, Europe Tel: +1 (855) 464-6788).

With this tool, we can trace movements on pages where Hotjar is active through so-called “heatmaps.” For example, it shows how far users scroll and which buttons they click most frequently. The tool also allows us to collect direct feedback from users of the website. This provides valuable information that helps us make our website faster and more user-friendly.

We pay special attention to the protection of your personal data when using this tool. Areas of websites where personal data from you or third parties is displayed are automatically hidden by Hotjar and can therefore never be traced.

Hotjar provides every user with the option to use a “Do Not Track” header to prevent the use of the Hotjar tool so that no data about visits to the respective website is recorded. This is a setting supported by all common browsers in their current versions. Your browser sends a request to Hotjar to disable tracking for the respective user. If you use our website with multiple browsers/computers, you must set the “Do Not Track” header for each browser/computer individually.

A detailed guide with information about your browser can be found at: https://www.hotjar.com/opt-out. More information about Hotjar Ltd. and the Hotjar tool can be found at: https://www.hotjar.com. Hotjar Ltd.’s privacy policy is available at: https://www.hotjar.com/privacy.
